The Union Church of Manila Philippines Foundation, Inc. (UCMPFI) organizes human, physical, and financial resources to improve the lives of its constituencies who are from under-served sectors of Philippine society. Considering the nature and extent of such resources, the incorporators and trustees of the Foundation determined that its distinctive contribution is in the areas of education and values formation. Their chosen constituencies are children and youth. The mission, vision, and goals of the Foundation came from its intention to contribute to local development through education and community support.

The Foundation was established in 1997 and is accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC).

Objectives

  • Provide educational assistance to undernourished children in identified depressed areas in Metro Manila through the Child Education and Nutrition Enhancement Program (CENEP). Currently, the program supports three centers located in Baragay Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City; Project 8, Quezon City; and Barangay Sto. Domingo, Cainta.

  • Provide scholarship assistance to disadvantaged high school youth who would otherwise drop out of school due to financial difficulties through its GEESE (Grace Enough to Ensure Secondary Education) program.

  • In partnership with the Department of Education (DepED), Schools Division of Makati City, support a non-formal literacy program through its LACE (Literacy and Accreditation for Continuing Education) program. This program supports classes for youth and adults desiring to qualify for a higher level of formal education.

  • Provide values formation and life enriching activities by integrating educational field trips, seminars, workshops and retreats in the above-mentioned programs. Parents, teachers and other project staff are likewise beneficiaries of values formation workshops and other special seminars.

  • A Working Committee (WC) oversees and monitors the implementation of programs and activities of the Foundation.

  • A Program Coordinator administers and oversees day-to-day implementation of the programs in coordination with the various program partners.
